School Tree Day Glenallen Special School 2019

August 5, 2019

Waverley Toyota were proud to support Glenallen School Special School during Toyota’s National School Tree Day 2019. Waverley Toyota teamed up with and Bunnings Warehouse in Springvale and the staff, cares and students of Glenallen to dig in for Planet Ark’s Schools Tree Day.

School Tree Day is an initiative of the highly respected not-for-profit environmental foundation, Planet Ark. It was originally created to bring the Australian community’s attention to the importance of planting native trees to protect and enhance our natural environment

To help make this event exciting for the students, they had the pleasure of tree planting with the 2016 Australian Paralympian of the Year, Dylan Alcott who can straight from his win in the inaugural quad wheelchair singles final at Wimbledon.

The event also consisted of a special visit from Greg and Alannah from Bunnings Warehouse in Springvale with gardening lessons, a visit from our member of Parliament, Matt Fregon MP, Michael Regan from the Panther’s All Abilities Football Club, Eds from One Click Events for the photobooth and nature face painting, Anna from Sustainability – Monash Council, Carol from Active Monash, Justin from OC Connection and Wise Employment. Also, a big thank you to our friends Martin and Marusca at Schnitz, The Glen, Dandenong Plaza & Burwood One for the yummy lunch.

Glenallen School is the largest school for students with a physical disability and /or sever health impairments in the southern hemisphere and strives to be a world’s best practice specialist school, providing innovation and excellence in teaching and learning for all students.
